Born in a small Norwegian town, Silje spent her first years running around the forest climbing trees, beating imaginary woodland robbers with sticks and singing stories to herself. Learning piano from the age of 8, and later teaching herself to play acoustic guitar, she developed a passion for music early on. And music, melodies and fanciful stories gradually melted together to become songwriting.

Now aged 23, Silje has completed her BA (Hons) at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, focusing on songwriting and performance. Her earlier education includes rock and popular music studies at Gauldal Folk High School, and music studies at Inderøy Videregående Skole, both in Norway.

Over the past few years Silje has gained a lot of experience gigging and touring with different bands and contributing to shows and musicals. During her time in Liverpool she built up a solid reputation in the acoustic scene of that and surrounding cities, performing her own material as a solo act. She also gigs with her four-piece band, where bass, drums and guitars lend some rock-and-roll power to her music.

Silje and her band has played a number of Liverpool venues, including the rather well known Cavern and the Barfly. They have also gigged in Norway, and was last seen supporting Norwegian star songstress Anne Grete Preus in Silje's home town. Silje has also performed live on Spanish national radio and on Manchester regional TV (Channel M). This summer Norwegian regional radio did a feature of her with an interview and a couple of her tunes.

In the summer of 2007 Silje moved to Oslo in her home country Norway, where she isnow working on some new material and trying to find places to gig. She also drinks coffee and occasionally does silly jumps around the livingroom in her pyjamas.
